Tanertill identifies as Munich, Germany’s first and only ModernGhostElectRock band. Their music is chock full of energy, groove, electronic vibes, and pure sweat. Personally, I know member Randy M. Salo from bands like This Is Not an Elephant (also including Andreas Krebs) and the Titan Agronomist Project. If you know those bands, you know exactly the type of hyper-groovy music he plays. The full lineup includes: Randy M. Salo on bass, Erdem Hakan Engin on drums, synths, and vocals, and Andreas Krebs on guitars and vocals.
Today, I’m premiering their new single, “Frames”, which you can hear at the link below. It is the lead song from their upcoming EP Zagreus, part one of a two-part EP concept work. Check out the full press release, also below.

Press Release
Thirteen years after the release of their second album Tanerthos, Tanertill proudly announces Zagreus, the first EP of a two-part concept work, to be released on October 1st, 2026. The album will first be available exclusively on Bandcamp and 12″ Black Vinyl, limited to 75 copies, and the other streaming services will follow. For over a decade, Munich’s Tanertill has been known for masterful songwriting (RockTimes), international-class quality (NoisyNeighbours), thunderous drums (SZ), tight riffing, and atmospheric vocals (Guitar) that the band itself describes as ModernGhostElectRock— a dense, multi-layered mix of heavy riffs, electronic textures, and dark, atmospheric soundscapes.
As with previous releases, the mixing and mastering for Zagreus was done by drummer Erdem Engin. The artwork was once again designed by guitarist Andreas Krebs, continuing the visual dimension of the band’s sound. The zebra who was killed by the vulture in the artwork of their second album, Tanerthos has been resurrected – symbolizing the bands breakup and reunion. Bassist Randy M. Salo, who also handles all video and promo aspects of the band, joined in 2013 for the release and promotion of Tanerthos. And so the duo became a trio.
From 2013 – 2016 the band wrote what should have been their third album, Libithos. But it wasn’t meant to be, as in October of 2016, one week before the band was to enter the studio, they decided to part ways. After pursuing solo careers, and other bands (including Andy and Randy’s This is Not an Elephant – which Erdem mixed and mastered the debut from), the band decided in 2021 the time was right to reunite.
After a packed reunion concert in hometown Munich, the band began writing in earnest. Writing an entirely new album, with only a few tracks left over from their previous sessions, the band were re-energized with all new ideas, influences and a bond that time could not break. The zebra had been resurrected.
